Multicultural Orientation (MCO)

The following is an introductory Deliberate Practice exercise designed to introduce the Multicultural Orientation framework (MCO; Owen, Tao, Leach, & Rodolfa, 2011; Owen, 2013), help providers increase their ability to work with issues of culture and diversity, and facilitate discussions of multiculturalism in mental health. 

These videos show actors reading scripts based on their real-life experiences of prejudice, bias, and problematic multicultural experiences in therapy. The scripts were written by the actors, as well as Sentio faculty member Dr. Jordan Harris based on his conversations with members of the AAMFT Minority Fellowship Network.
