How this collection is built and maintained
What this collection covers. Free guides to becoming a therapist in California, a directory of every California MFT program, interactive calculators for therapist pay and pre-licensure earnings, and a state-by-state licensing lookup. Each page stands on its own and cites its sources.
Where the facts come from. Primary and official sources. The program directory is built from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences approved-program list and each school’s own published pages. The pay tools use U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data. The licensing lookup uses each state board’s published requirements. Sources are linked where they are used.
How current it is. Every page shows its own “Last updated” date, and we recheck the underlying sources on a recurring schedule and after any major announcement. The directory’s BBS program list was last checked in June 2026.
How unknown values are handled. Where a school or agency does not publish a figure, the field reads “unknown” or “not disclosed.” We do not impute, estimate, or invent missing values, and any labeled estimate is clearly marked as an estimate.
Checked by a person. Program and licensing pages are read by a person, not gathered by automated scraping.
How corrections are handled. Anyone can request a correction by emailing mabundez@sentio.org. We respond within five business days, and corrections supported by published materials are made immediately.
Independence. Sentio University is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and operates its own MFT program, listed on the same terms as every other program. This collection contains no paid placements, no affiliate links, no sponsored entries, and no advertising of any kind.
